Video Project: “Radiation Oncology – Loyola Medicine at Palos Health”

Client: Loyola Medicine (Loyola University Health System)

When Loyola Medicine partnered with Palos Health to expand services in Chicago’s southwest suburbs, I led the pre-production process for a video commercial used across paid digital and social media ads to help showcase the cutting-edge technology available as well as the expert medical professionals available for those with cancer.

What made the services here special included an MRI-based system that allowed surgeons to see the position and size of cancerous tumors and also see how the tumors would be treated by radiation therapies in real-time.

This approach, combined with Loyola’s radiation oncology experts and other treatment technologies at this location, gave patients treatment options they couldn’t find at other health systems in the immediate area or even state.

I developed the script, shot list, shooting schedule, scouted locations, and conducted interviews with Loyola radiation oncology specialists, all of which expedited collaboration with the vendor and completed pre-production quicker.

Throughout filming, I worked closely with the video production vendors to ensure the commercial aligned with vision and messaging to establish Loyola’s radiation oncology services. In post-production, I collaborated with the editors and helped in the campaign distribution strategy, successfully driving awareness for Loyola’s radiation oncology services in the market.

While the Loyola and Palos partnership ultimately did not last, the commercials were highly successful in raising Loyola’s profile in the area, attracting new patients to the location, and increased the credibility and expertise of Loyola’s radiation oncology and general oncology programs which led to increased awareness on a national level.

Below is the original A/V script developed during internal pre-production for this commercial.
